Control the asset. Confirm the state.
The ACTERA R2D3 v2.1 provides a dedicated command-and-status path between a PC-based telemetry application and remote equipment over Motorola MOTOTRBO radio infrastructure. It is designed for focused telemetry applications in which a small number of clearly defined commands and return states are more appropriate than a full-scale SCADA interface.
Sending a remote command is only part of the task. The operator must also know whether the equipment responded and which state it is reporting.
The documented R2D3 v2.1 configuration supports up to two command messages and up to three return-status messages.
Six front-panel indicators provide immediate visibility of device power, received commands and transmitted equipment status.
The R2D3 v2.1 connects to a compatible Motorola MOTOTRBO DM4400 or DM4401 series mobile radio through a dedicated eight-pin radio interface.
A second eight-pin interface connects the unit with the controlled equipment or relay.
The device receives its operating power from the rear accessory connector of the connected Motorola radio.
Command Initiation
The operator sends an ON or OFF command from the PC-based telemetry application.
Control-Station Radio
A Motorola MOTOTRBO DM4400 or DM4401 series radio serves as the control station connected to the telemetry application.
MOTOTRBO Network
The command is transported through the MOTOTRBO radio system to the subscriber radio at the remote site.
Remote Subscriber Radio
A compatible MOTOTRBO mobile radio is installed at or near the controlled equipment.
R2D3 Equipment Interface
The subscriber radio connects to the R2D3 through the radio interface. The R2D3 connects to the equipment relay through the field interface.
Status Return
The R2D3 returns the corresponding ON, OFF or ERR status through the MOTOTRBO network to the central telemetry application.
Remote ON/OFF Command
Supports two clearly defined command messages in the documented configuration.
Equipment-Status Return
Supports three return-status messages: ON, OFF and ERR.
MOTOTRBO Radio Integration
Documented for use with Motorola MOTOTRBO DM4400 and DM4401 series mobile radios.
Radio-Supplied Power
Receives operating power from the rear accessory connector of the connected radio.
Separate Radio and Field Interfaces
Two eight-pin connectors provide dedicated connections for the MOTOTRBO radio and the controlled equipment.
Local Status Indication
Front-panel LEDs show power, incoming command state and outgoing equipment status.
Wide Operating-Temperature Range
Specified for operation from -30°C to +60°C.
The command matters. Confirmation matters more.
For remote equipment requiring straightforward ON/OFF control and clear return status, the ACTERA R2D3 v2.1 provides a focused interface to a Motorola MOTOTRBO radio environment.
